About this policy
This policy applies to information collected through bravespacescare.ca, including the contact form. It does not cover information collected as part of a youth's placement or care at Brave Spaces — that is governed by the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA, 2004), the Child, Youth and Family Services Act (CYFSA), and Brave Spaces' internal Confidentiality and Privacy Policy (BSYFS-CPP-003), and is not addressed on this public website.
What information we collect from this website
We collect the following information only when you choose to provide it via the contact form:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number (optional)
- The reason you are reaching out (referral, careers, partnership, youth and family, media, other)
- Your organization (optional)
- The message you write
We do not use cookies, analytics tools, or third-party tracking scripts on this website. We do not build profiles of visitors. We do not sell or rent your information.
How we use your information
We use the information you submit to respond to your inquiry. That is the only purpose. We will not add you to a mailing list, send you unrelated communications, or share your information with third parties for marketing.
If your inquiry is part of a placement referral or other professional contact that becomes ongoing, your contact information may be retained as part of standard organizational record-keeping, separate from this website. Any retention beyond the immediate response is governed by Brave Spaces' records retention policies and applicable Ontario legislation, not this website privacy policy.
How the contact form works
The contact form is delivered by Formspree, a third-party service that receives the form submission and forwards it to us as an email. Formspree temporarily stores submissions on their servers and may retain a copy for service-quality and abuse-prevention purposes. You can review Formspree's own privacy practices at formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy.
We do not control Formspree's internal practices but have selected them because their terms align with our privacy expectations and they comply with Canadian and EU privacy standards.
How the website is hosted
This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc., which serves the pages to your browser. Netlify automatically logs basic technical information (such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit) for the purpose of operating their service. This information is not shared with us in identifiable form. Netlify's privacy practices are at netlify.com/privacy.
Your rights
If you have used the contact form and want to know what information we hold about you, want it corrected, or want it deleted, please email info@bravespacescare.ca. We will respond within a reasonable time and at no cost to you, subject to the limits set out in the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
You also have the right to file a complaint about how an organization handles your personal information with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children and young people
This website is for adults considering Brave Spaces' programs — placing CAS workers, prospective staff, partners, funders, families, and (where appropriate) young people themselves. It does not target children under 13 for data collection. If you are a young person reading this and would like to talk to someone about Brave Spaces, please reach out to your CAS worker or use the Resources page to find a support that fits.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes meaningfully, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, we will note the change in a banner on the home page for a reasonable period.
